How they met

EHarmony was the matchmaker. He winked, she reluctantly gave in, and their adventure began. In February of 2017, they met for their first date at a restaurant called Chelsey’s Kitchen. While still unsure, a second date was agreed upon to a spring training game. Their guards came down, were able to be themselves, and decided they would keep each other around. Months later, in cozy cabin outside of Payson, AZ, they proclaimed their love for each other under the stars. About 6 months into the relationship, they both felt it was the right time for Megan to meet Troy’s 3 year old daughter, Lily. Their love grew stronger and the 3 of them quickly became a family in a house full of music, love, and laughter.

 The Proposal

February 23rd, 2019, Troy and Megan were to leave for a pre-planned a trip to that same cabin outside of Payson where they shared those famous three words. He had an elaborate marriage proposal planned next to a beautiful creek in the woods they had relaxed at in previous trips. But of course, this was the same week Arizona received the worst winter storm in about 20 years, covering most of the state in snow and ice and leaving the cabin surrounded by almost 4 feet of snow. Needless to say, the trip and secret proposal had to be cancelled.

On that cold Saturday afternoon at home, they were cozied up on the couch next to a nice fire, and watching a show, when Troy suddenly turned off the TV (this was unusual). Megan looked at him with confusion, saw a box in his left hand and knew right away what was about to happen. Her eyes immediately filled with tears of joy. He got down on one knee and opened the box. Stumbling with the words at first, he confidently got it out… “Megan Rae Kimzey, will you marry me?

We couldn’t be more excited for our future and journey through life together as Mr. and Mrs. King!
